Short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything, and you can opt out of everything. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data.
What We Collect
- —Email address — only if you subscribe to our newsletter via Beehiiv. Used only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- —Analytics data — aggregated traffic patterns via Google Analytics (page views, session duration, traffic sources). We see "200 people read this review" — not who those people are.
- —Affiliate click data — when you click a partner link, a tracking cookie may be set by that affiliate network to attribute any purchase back to us. We don't see your name or payment details — only that a commission-eligible action occurred.
We have no login system, no user accounts, and no payment data.
How We Use Your Data
The data we collect has three narrow purposes: sending you the newsletter if you asked for it, understanding which content is useful so we can improve it, and attributing affiliate commissions that fund the site. We don't use your data for advertising, profiling, or anything unrelated to those purposes.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell your data. We do not rent your data. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use data for automated decision-making that affects you.
Third-Party Services
- —Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager (Alphabet Inc.) — site performance analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- —Beehiiv — newsletter sending platform. Stores your email address if you subscribe. Subject to Beehiiv's Privacy Policy.
- —Affiliate networks — Impact, PartnerStack, ShareASale/Awin, Fiverr Affiliates, NordAffiliate, Udemy Partners, and others. May set tracking cookies when you click partner links. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Third-Party Links
Once you leave ToolNav, the vendor's privacy policy governs your data. We have no control over external sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policy before purchasing.
Data Retention
Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings (26 months). Cookie consent preference is stored locally in your browser and cleared when you clear browser data. We don't hold any other personal data.
Your Rights (GDPR — EU / UK)
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the following rights under GDPR:

- —Right to rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- —Right to erasure — Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").

- —Right to object — Object to our processing of your data for analytics purposes.
- —Right to withdraw consent — Withdraw cookie consent at any time via the Manage Cookies link in the footer — this stops future tracking but does not affect past processing.
