Anthropic Launches Claude Computer Use for Pro and Max Subscribers

Claude computer use goes beyond web search: the model can open desktop applications, navigate forms, read on-screen content and chain multi-step actions to complete a task end-to-end without the user staying in the loop. For affiliate publishers and content creators, practical use cases include scraping competitor pricing, filling in repetitive admin forms, and monitoring changes across multiple dashboards simultaneously. Anthropic's implementation is more conservative than OpenAI's Operator -- Claude pauses for confirmation before taking irreversible actions, which reduces the risk of runaway automation but adds friction for power users who want fully autonomous runs. Access is available through the Claude web app for Pro and Max subscribers, and through Dispatch (Anthropic's mobile automation layer) for tasks initiated on a phone. The feature is in research preview, meaning edge cases still require some supervision -- but for routine desktop workflows, it removes a meaningful category of manual work.
